COMPETITIVE STRATEGY INITIATIVES
Shovel-ready opportunities to take your agency to the next level

One of the most valuable training
and educational opportunities of my career.

Jim McCarthy,
President/CEO, Miami Valley Fair Housing Center

Competitive Strategy Initiatives teach participants how to develop and implement competitive strategies to take their agencies to the next level. Beyond developing game-changing competitive strategies, takeaways include building the capacity to think competitively, polishing presentation skills to engage emotions and open checkbooks, and developing long-lasting relationships with other like-minded executives.

CSIs are focused and fast, practical and affordable. Each of the one-day workshops includes detailed instruction and follow-on coaching. Participants have assignments that they present to their peers for feedback and enrichment at the subsequent workshop. At the final workshop they present to peers and a panel of venture philanthropists.

1.  GOOD START

Clarify who you are, where you are,
and where you’re going.

2.  GOOD IDEAS
Good Start presentations,
generate good ideas t
o get you where you want to go.

3.  GOOD STRATEGY
Good Ideas presentations,

transform the best ideas into good strategies,

test them for viability.

4.  GOOD TO GO

Good Strategy presentations,

detail your best strategy into a basic business plan,

address integration and implementation issues.

There are a variety of ways to customize the CSI workshops. For example, the shortest CSI begins and ends with the Good Start workshop without presentations.  Alternatively, the CSI can begin with the Good Start workshop and conclude with the Good Ideas workshop four weeks later with presentations to funders. Or mix and match as it works for you. CSIs can be conducted at the organizational level or the department level, for one agency or multiple agencies.

The instruction from Mark
and the rigorous process he led us through
have been nothing short of spectacular.
